Cotswold Farm Park
Share the magic of lambing at BBC ”Countryfile” presenter Adam Henson’s rare breeds farm (8th February – 19th April). Daily talks, bottle feeding, Farm Safari rides and an Adventure Barn for letting off steam make this an ideal family day out!
Cosy up on the special viewing platform overlooking the lambing sheds where you may be lucky enough to see a lamb being born (19th Mar – 5th April). A Scarecrow Trail (15th – 23rd February) and Easter Trail (4th – 19th April) along with daily tractor rides, egg collecting and animal feeding all add to the fun!
A chance to experience lambing from birth to the lambs’ first steps onto Spring grass (28th March – 19th April). Also offering an indoor and outdoor play area, chick holding, craft corner, sensory farm walks and picnic spots.
Enjoy the Palace’s four day Easter Wonderland celebration full of interactive family-friendly activities including a traditional fairground, Princess meet and greet, Punch and Judy show, Easter puppet show and Easter Bunny Walkabout (10th – 13th April).
Some fabulous Spring family activities at this beautiful country house including orienteering and a Family Cookery School (15th – 23rd February), walking trails and a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt (4th – 13th March).
Take a ‘punt’ and try your hand at the quintessential Oxford experience. Punting down the river Cherwell is the ideal way to enjoy the peace and tranquilty that is just a stone’s throw from the busy heart of the city of Oxford and its ‘dreaming spires’ (opens mid-March).
Didcot Railway Centre
Step aboard an old style steam locomotive and experience travel from a bygone era. This living museum runs steam days (19th, 22nd and 23rd February) and Spring Exhibition Days where you can explore the engines up close (17th, 18th, 20th, 21st February). They are even running a Day Out with Thomas where you can meet Thomas and the Fat Controller (7th & 8th March)!
A stunning 8 acres of beautifully landscaped ornamental gardens where you can marvel at the fantastic display of snowdrops (1st – 29th February) while the little ones enjoy the Alphabet ‘I Spy’ (15th – 23rd February). They are also running a Big Easter Bunny Hunt (28th March – 21st April).
Oxford Bus Museum
Home to the Morris Motors Museum, this volunteer run collection of vintage buses and coaches is well worth a visit. Enjoy free classic bus rides (19th & 20th February and 5th, 13th April & 19th April) as well as an Easter Chick Hunt (12th April).
